When: Sunday, September 9
Where: Baltimore, MD
In September, children and their parents took to the track at a local high school in the Baltimore-area and began their journey to incrementally complete a marathon by springtime as part of an initiative my Marathon Kids, a national health and nutrition program that is free thanks to The Rite Aid Foundation.
Several associates represented Rite Aid at the special kickoff event, including The Rite Aid Foundation Manager Gayle Rife and District Manager Jim Cioffi. “It was a double win for me,” Cioffi says. “Not only were we representing Rite Aid, but both of my boys are participating in Marathon Kids. They both did it last year and had a great time with it.”
More than 6,000 Baltimore-area children will walk or run 26.2 miles over the next six months by taking part in Marathon Kids.
