Celebrating 50 years of making our communities well with 50 acts of wellness

Taking Wellness – and Water- to Communities Immediate after Hurricane Sandy Struck

When: Wednesday, October 31

Where: Staten Island, NY

With many NY and NJ residents in desperate need in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, Rite Aid’s 50 Acts of Wellness took on a new meaning and focus. Immediately after the storm, The Rite Aid Foundation, store, field and supply chain teams mobilized to distribute free bottled water at five stores in the hardest hit areas. In one neighborhood, Rite Aid associates teamed with NYPD officers to go throughout the community to distribute cases of water to residents. In all, more than four truckloads of water were given out.
