Step Out Walk To Stop Diabetes

When: Sunday, October 2

Where: Harrisburg, PA

Cloudy skies and cool temperatures couldn’t keep Rite Aid associates from representing their company while raising money for a good cause.  More than 50 associates participated in the Step Out Walk To Stop Diabetes held Oct. 2, 2011, at City Island in Harrisburg, PA.

Rite Aid President and CEO John Standley gave the keynote speech during opening ceremonies.  “Many people have diabetes or care for someone who does, including Rite Aid customers and associates,” Standley said.  “It’s important for them to know that they don’t have to manage the disease alone.  Rite Aid is here to help patients manage and live well with the disease.”

During his speech, John Standley also had the honor of recognizing two special young girls who are batteling diabetes and were named youth ambassadors for the City Island Walk.  One of the girls was 6-year-old Anna Matunis, daughter of Rite Aid associates Frank and Sarah Matunis.
