“Rite Walkers” Walk to Cure Diabetes

When: Saturday, September 22

Where: Pittsburgh, PA

The “Rite Walkers”, a group of Pittsburgh Rite Aid associates, were Silver sponsors at the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes in Schenley Park on September 22.  This event focused on raising awareness and funds for type 1 diabetes research.

Brian Bobby, pharmacy district manager, and Steve Gaughan, district manager, coordinated the efforts and mobilized the team of walkers with the assistance of Tracy Rittle and Stacy Costa.  A combination of Wellness Ambassadors, pharmacists, pharmacy district managers and district managers attended, along with family members encouraging this worthy cause.

The event was supported by a table featuring Rite Aid mugs, Frisbees and information for diabetic patients.  The walk was a great success and one of “Rite Walkers” Acts of Wellness supporting Rite Aid’s 50th Anniversary.
