When: Monday, October 1
Where: Pittsburgh, PA
We joined with United Way and North Hills Community Outreach to kick things off in Pittsburgh on October 1. At the announcement of our arrival, residents of Corbett Court Apartments and Towers began to fill up the common areas, where we delivered 100 Senior-at-Home Kits filled with various personal care and household items, such as batteries, toilet paper, tissues, laundry detergent and other items to help seniors living independently. Flu shots were also provided for 40 seniors, one being at a senior’s home!
After spending the day visiting and learning more about each other, we were invited to several houses and apartments to assist with common chores such as window washing, dusting and cold and flu proofing surfaces. Our head pharmacist even went to a local hardware store for parts to fix a vacuum, and then took to sweeping the apartment! Wellness ambassadors were also there, sharing ways Rite Aid can help with wellness goals.
A Thank You Letter from North Hills Community Outreach
There was a message at my office this morning from a woman at Town North Tower who was so very grateful for the Rite Aid products and opportunity to meet and visit with all of the volunteers from Rite Aid. I know that everyone’s efforts were greatly appreciated by all of the seniors we visited.
And we at NHCO appreciated the opportunity to participate in the RA50 project – a remarkable and well-executed concept for a business to really demonstrate its desire to be a part of and give back to the community.
It truly was a pleasure working together with you all on this project.
Again, many thanks and best of luck with the rest of the RA50 events!
