We launched Rite Aid’s 50th Anniversary on September 12 with our first act of wellness – a day of saying “thank you” at the Pennsylvania State Capitol in Harrisburg, just down the road from our headquarters. Capitol employees were welcomed to work in the morning with healthy breakfast snacks and an invitation to a Wellness Fair featuring a variety of free health screenings and flu shots.
Nearly 200 people took advantage of the free flu shots and learning their numbers – key to making healthy lifestyle changes. We were also proud to give each member of the Capitol Police Force a wellness kit filled with products to help them stay healthy throughout the year. A favorite item was the gel shoe inserts to make long days on their feet more comfortable.
Highlighting the day was the special Governor’s Proclamation presented to Rite Aid Chairman, President and CEO John Standley by Executive Deputy Health Secretary Michel Wolf, who also served as a healthy role model by getting his own flu shot.
