Pharmacist Jessica Baugh and Pharmacy Student Jill Siegfried are regular volunteers at the Capital City Rescue Mission Free Clinic in Albany, NY. The free on-site medical clinic at the Mission is open two days per week and provides wellness and preventive care for uninsured patients.
In 2011, over 2,300 people visited the clinic for hypertension, mental health, wellness and preventive care, diabetes, URI, tobacco addiction, musculoskeletal pain, bronchitis, asthma and insomnia.
The clinic depends on volunteers to be part of the health care team working together to provide care to their patients. Baugh and Siegfried feel it is a great experience working with other professionals and helping those who are less fortunate.
