The DowellGroup volunteered their time to help “Operation Christmas Child” on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, by assembling five empty shoe boxes with small gifts and delivering the boxes to a local collection center. Volunteers then mailed the collected boxes throughout the world to underprivileged children.

In November, the DowellGroup donated essential items to the Shalom House women and children’s shelter in Harrisburg, PA. The Shalom House provides temporary shelter for woman and children who have nowhere else to go, transitional housing for homeless veterans and their children, and permanent housing for disabled, chronically homeless low-income women.

On Monday, November 19, the DowellGroup hosted a book drive for The Salvation Army Children’s Learning Center in York, PA. The group donated new and gently used books to the Salvation Army’s after school program that serves inner city York County students from Kindergarden to 9th grade.
Ashburn, VA
The DowellGroup volunteered at the Ashburn Community Center on Sunday, November 18, 2012, preparing “Backpack Buddies” for Loudoun County youth. The group filled the backpacks with healthy food, such as apple sauce and mandarin oranges.
