For Rite Aid Store Manager Marlene Skadden, raising money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is personal. She is committed to doing what she can to give back to the organization that helped her family six years ago. That was when her daughter, Sydney, was born 3 months premature, weighing in at 1 pound, 15 ounces.
Marlene has made a personal commitment to doing everything she can to help raise money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals during Rite Aid’s annual fundraising campaign. And her efforts paid off in late April as she and her team held an outdoor community festival at the Rite Aid in Havre de Grace, MD.
Radio station WAMD broadcasted live from the store’s parking lot as the community enjoyed food, entertainment, and a variety of activities. The biggest draw to the event was an appearance from the Ravens Posse, a group of devoted Ravens football fans known for their enthusiasm and passion, not only for football, but also for supporting worthy causes like Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.
Team members feel this event is a huge success, not only as a fundraiser, but as a way to work with their community to raise awareness about the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
